In affiliation with the American Bicycle Association, Freedom Park BMX Raceway and Elings Park BMX Raceway, NeedThree/Madhaus Action Design and Gold Coast BMX Racing are proud to present Southern California's 1st Annual BMX Gold Coast Cup!

That's 2 tracks. 5 weekends. 10 races. Tons of prizes, local and industry sponsor giveaways and infinite good times. And of course... the Gold Coast Cup. You'll want one for your BMX mantle.

Rules, Requirments & Scoring:

All ABA rules will apply. In addition to riders earning ABA points in accordance with their finishes, each rider will earn special Gold Coast Cup Points based upon their respective finishes, plus rider points for each race entered. Riders who do not qualify for the main event (participant) will still earn awarded rider points for each race entered. For the series, there are eight (8) possible single points races and two (2 ) Series Finale double points races. Point totals for the series will include a rider’s best five (5) regular single-point finishes from either Elings Park BMX OR Freedom Park BMX and BOTH Finale races. The double point Series Finale races will count as double series points and double rider points. The point scale is the same for NOVICE, INTERMEDIATE, EXPERT, CRUISER and GIRL. Riders may participate in all races and discard their low points. Please note that it is not necessary to participate in the series minimum in order to earn points towards an overall Gold Coast Cup ranking. Gold Coast Cup Points are awarded as follows:

1st = 8 + rider points

2nd = 7 + rider points

3rd = 6 + rider points

4th = 5 + rider points

5th = 4 + rider points

6th = 3 + rider points

7th = 2 + rider points

8th = 1 + rider points

Participant = 0 + rider points

Prize Raffles & Crowd Giveaways: For each single points race, every rider that enters the day’s event will have his/her name placed into a drawing for that day’s prize raffle. Names will be drawn for prizes and the rider must be present to collect the prize. There will also be mystery moto prizes and crowd giveaways. GCC Series Awards: Single points races- Commemorative Gold Coast Cup Trophies – 1st – 3rd Top 20 overall- Gold Coast Cup custom sublimated jersey including Rider’s Name and Gold Coast Cup earned number on the back of the jersey. Top 10 overall- Gold Coast Cup jersey PLUS full color Gold Coast Cup commemorative plaque featuring the rider’s name and earned number. Gold Coast Cup Champion- Gold Coast Cup jersey, Gold Coast Cup Champion plaque PLUS rider’s choice of a Redman Tomahawk Race Frame with custom downtube Gold Coast Cup Champion graphics.

GCC Race for Life Top fundraiser Award- As the Gold Coast Cup series ends with the double-header Race For Life races at both Elings Park BMX and Freedom Park BMX, the top RFL money raiser for the series will receive a set of STEALTH hubs (retail value approximately $600). The winner will have a choice of the PRO or the new MINI-JUNIOR hub set. To be eligible to win, a rider must participate in a minimum of five (5) single-point Regular Series races, as well as the two (2) Series Finale Double-Point Race for Life races. Race finishes WILL NOT factor into a rider’s chance to win. In the event of a fundraising tie, the winner will be randomly drawn from the tied fundraisers. All RFL packets must be turned in before the close of race registration, 5:00 p.m., at the Freedom Park Race For Life on August 21, 2010. Riders can pick up RFL packets at the track.
