What is the Daylight Duster Summer Heat Series?
This is a fun race series exclusively at Freedom Park BMX. The series is 10 races between July 28 - Aug 27 during our regular Tuesday and Thursday race nights.
Every single time you line up to race, you earn Entry Points (just for signing up) and Finish Points (based on your main event finish). We take your top 6 race scores to calculate the final standings, and at the series conclusion, the top 10 overall racers will walk away with major prizes!
🏆 NEW FOR 2026: Double the Dusters
This year, we are teaming up with Daylight Cycles to give away TWO of the brand-new, highly coveted "pint sized" Daylight Duster frames. One earned through the series overall standings, and one won by pure luck!
1. The Grand Prize (Performance-Based)
The single rider who racks up the highest overall series points across their top 6 races will be crowned the Summer Heat Champion and take home a Daylight Duster frame.
2. The Grand Finale Raffle (Anyone Can Win!)
Want a frame but racing a tough class? Every single race entry fee you pay throughout the 10-race series gets you one raffle ticket dropped into the bucket. On our final night, we will draw one random ticket, and someone is going home with a brand new Duster frame just for supporting the track!
Both frame winners will be able to choose their size frame (mini, junior, expert, or expert xl) and color (choose from 15 stock powder coat colors)
🎟️ How to stack your Raffle Tickets
We want everyone to have a shot at stacking the deck in their favor. The more your race, the more chances you have to win!

Class & Cruiser ($15 per entry): If you double-class and race both your 20-inch and your cruiser on the same night, you will get 2 raffle tickets for that night.

The "Summer Heat" Opens ($10 per entry): Don't have a cruiser but want that extra raffle ticket and more race action? We are introducing special Open Classes every race night for just a $10 entry fee.
What are Open Classes? Open classes group riders purely by age—meaning Novices, Intermediates, and Experts all line up on the gate together for low-pressure, high-energy racing. It’s the ultimate way to get extra track time, test your skills against different riders, and score an extra raffle ticket!
⚠️ Note: Open Classes are purely for fun, extra race laps, and stacking up your raffle tickets. Opens do not count toward the overall Summer Heat Series points nor USA BMX district points.
SUMMER HEAT SERIES FAQ
What is the points scale for the series?
Entry Points (up to 10 races per rider/class): 20 points
Finish points (top 6 go towards series standings)
1st place: 100 points
2nd place: 80 points
3rd place: 70 points
4th place: 60 points
5th place: 50 points
6th place: 40 points
7th place: 30 points
8th place: 20 points
Will novices, intermediates, experts, and cruisers be scored on the same points scale?
Yes! No matter your proficiency or class, all racers will be scored on the same points scale for the series. This ensures that all riders have a chance to compete for the series prizes no matter their skill level.
Can a rider compete in the series in class, cruiser, and open?
A rider can compete and earn points for 20-inch and 24-inch race classes. However, only one top overall series score per rider will be considered for the top 10 series prizes. Opens do not count towards the series points.
Will riders still earn their regular USA BMX district points?
Yes, for all race nights during the series standard single USA BMX district points will be awarded as all other single point races at Freedom Park BMX.
