What is the Summer Heat Series?
This is a fun race series exclusively at Freedom Park BMX. The series is 10 races between July 15 - Aug 14 during our regular Tuesday and Thursday race nights. Every time you race during this time period, you will earn Entry Points (points for signing up) and Finish Points (based on your overall finish in your race for that night). At the series conclusion, the top 10 series racers will earn prizes (see above for list of series prizes)!
What is the points scale for the series?
Entry Points (up to 10 races per rider/class): 20 points
Finish points (top 6 go towards series standings)
1st place: 100 points
2nd place: 80 points
3rd place: 70 points
4th place: 60 points
5th place: 50 points
6th place: 40 points
7th place: 30 points
8th place: 20 points
Will novices, intermediates, experts, and cruisers be scored on the same points scale?
Yes! No matter your proficiency or class, all racers will be scored on the same points scale for the series. This ensures that all riders have a chance to compete for the series prizes no matter their skill level.
Can a rider compete in the series in class and cruiser?
Yes, a rider can compete and earn points for different race classes (20" and 24" bikes). However, only one top overall series score per rider will be considered for the top 10 series prizes.
Will riders still earn their regular USA BMX district points?
Yes, for all race nights during the series standard single USA BMX district points will be awarded as all other single point races at Freedom Park BMX.
